My name is Luke Doubtfire.
I'm twenty two years of age and an undergraduate honours student in creative writing. I spend most of my free time writing too, so it's pretty much the basis of my life. That, and the joys of strong alcohol and and beautiful women.
These halls of penmanship were reccommended very highly to me by my good friend Heather Torrey. We have a special bond in writing and life experience, even though we live over four thousand miles apart.
I'm a hopeless romantic at heart, though my poetry often has a bittersweet edge, or a chaotic Dionysian subject, reflecting the way that I live my life.
I love to experiment with different forms and meters. I especially love villanelles, Shakespearian sonnets, couplet sonnets, kyrielles, and terza rimas, though I often default into an iambic tetrameter if I begin to feel constricted.
I'm not sure how much of a bio I should give before people get bored, but here goes.
I'm six foot, and a bit of a weightlifting nut at fifteen stone. I have short military-style brown hair and very strange eyes that are in coronas of steel grey, ice blue, and green. I'm heavily and visibly tatooed across my arms, chest, and neck, I also have a fair few piercings. I love melodic gothic metal, especially if it has cellos. I'm a die-hard liberal in my political views, and pagan (more specifically Asatru, I have a large and ornate depiction of Mjollnir, Thor's hammer, tattooed on the back of my neck) in my religion. I adore fantasy literature, and am currently working on a fantasy novel of my own. As to poetry, my idol is Oscar Wilde.
Hoping that I find myself welcome, and eagerly looking forward to finding kindred spirits in poetry, Luke Doubtfire.
