I have heard this phrase a time or two,
but never believed it would come true.
Until there was a block in our main sewer line,
and all my daughter could do was whine.
Can't flush the toilet or take a shower now,
causing too much stress here, and how!!
It was out of use for over a week,
our whole house was starting to reek.
Couldn't wash the clothes or dishes either,
wife about to divorce me and I believe 'er.
I'm trying everything I possibly can,
without calling an expensive plumber man.
Plumbing snakes, augers, and drain openers won't work,
my wife and daughter considering me a total jerk.
But a plumber, a minimum of $120.00 the cost,
our hopes of financial progress would be lost.
So finally for $40.00 I rented a long power snake,
since 8 days was more than my marriage would take.
It was about to the point of TNT coming forth,
to send that main line clog 12 blocks north.
Fortunately the power snake did what it was meant to do,
there was quite a blockage, but it finally broke through.
All tangled around the snake, I almost had to howl,
was the shredded remains of an old red towel........
