I would pause you,
in that space,
cartesian, geometric and infinite,
in that flash of light
from the half-open curtain
before it fully illuminates
your half-open mouth
filled with half-truths
and almost-articulated depths.
I would pause you
in that space
infinite and precarious
between the inhale. exhale.
before the light passing
illuminates,
and the time passing
illuminates
and the last moment passes
from dark to light to dark.
from where I love you
to where I don't.
